"THE BIG BAND CAVALCADE" .... Sam's seventeen piece band  that opened the original MGM Grand Hotel  had become the favorite gate attraction for most all fund raising affairs of the '70s & '80s  with Sam often donating the full orchestra for a chaity. This popularity was gained by the many years of peforming on The Las Vegas Strip with his group, "The Sam Melchionne Quartette", also popular in having performed hotel openings for The Tropicana, New Frontier Hotel/Casinos and New Flamingo Lounge.
